Why Does Kampala Mayor Break The Law On Wetlands?

SIR— I thought the swamp areas were out of bounds for any kind of construction to take place.

SIR— I thought the swamp areas were out of bounds for any kind of construction to take place. If people in power think they are above the law and know the law, and they build in the wetlands, then we are doomed. How does the Mayor of Kampala acquire land within the wetlands and build there, yet his office is supposed to work alongside the environmentalists in conserving nature?
What needs to be done is to demolish all those houses within the wetlands by force.
There is no beauty is Kampala. First, Garden City has inhabited part of golf course. Then Shoprite has been built next to Lugogo Showground.
It seems NEMA and the
ministries of health, land,
transport, energy, etc. don’t work together.
