Initial agreements between visiting Norwegian businessmen and their local counterparts to establish joint venture companies in hydro and solar-power, fish processing and water processing have been signed.
Among the agreements was a memorandum of understanding between Ugandaâ€™s Unigroup with SolEnergy Limited of Norway for the supply of solar energy.
Unigroup also signed two letters of intent to cooperate with Plastec AS for water installation projects in Uganda and with Stork Project, a Norwegian construction company.
Polino Holdings Limited, owned by Charles Mbiire signed a memorandum of understanding with Seatanktec of Norway to form East Africa Fish Farming Limited.
The company will provide aquaculture products like setting up a hatchery, a fish farm, feed mill and fish processing and exports.
A Norwegian company SN power Invest Alstom and Norplan AS signed a joint venture with the ministry of energy for the development of five non-hydro power projects in western Uganda.
The ministry will provide information on all the sites.
