The Country Director of Students Partnership Worldwide, (SPW) Alex Kyabawampi has said that for the first time in eight years the headmaster of Gadumire Primary School was proud no girl has dropped out of the school due to pregnacy.
Gadumire is a small school in Kamuli district. Kyabawampi said this while receiving new volunteers in the SPW at Makerere University recently.
Kyabawampi said that due to the efforts of SPW the youth had been sensitising their peers and had greatly reduced the high incidence of pregnancies in schools.
“We use the youth to communicate to fellow youth on behavioural change which is still a problem in schools,†he said.
