Justice George Kanyeihamba of the Supreme Court recently told lawyers who joined the profession for personal gain and riches to try their exploits elsewhere.

He was representing chief justice Benjamin Odoki at a hand-over ceremony of Uganda Christian University in Mukono.

Kanyeihamba said lawyers should be independent of other people’s decisions.

He said law was a noble profession and every lawyer should uphold integrity.

He staked an award of sh100,000 to the student who would emerge best in law this academic year.

He advised students against corruption and told them to teach their clients about laws and effects of breaking them.
