THE Law Council Disciplinary Committee has summoned the deputy Speaker, Rebecca Kadaga, to answer charges of unprofessional conduct.
In yesterday’s hearing notice, the Committee asked Kadaga to defend herself on Friday for allegedly failing to remit to a client money awarded in a case against Entebbe Municipal Council.
“You are required...to appear before this committee to answer the accusations against you,†the summons read.
Matya Bulago alleges that Kadaga of Kadaga and Company Advocates, failed and/or refused to remit to him sh1.2m, being money awarded to him in a High Court civil suit No 743 of 1991 against Entebbe Municipality as proceeds of a sale of a motor vehicle belonging to the municipality.
Kadaga is also being accused of unbecoming conduct contrary to Advocates Regulations.
