ARUA resident district commissioner (RDC) Omony Ogaba has banned movement of livestock at night and the slaughter of animals before 7:00am to check the rampant cattle theft in the district.

Addressing a recent security council meeting in Arua, Ogaba said livestock movement permits would be issued by authorised officers.

He said it was illegal to share shelter with animals and those who did so would be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
