LEADING soccer supporter Dennis Mbidde has been picked to spearhead the revival of Arsenal-Uganda fans club, and prepare a national victory party on May 15.
Leading fans of the English soccer giants met at Steak Out in Kampala on Monday night, and put in place an interim committee led by Mbidde, a Uganda telecom account relationship manager.

The members also proposed several high profile figures like state ministers Okello Oryem and Mike Mukula, Nile Bank MD Richard Byarugaba and Just Kicking’s Abbey Kassam as patrons, according to spokesperson Chris Mubiru.

Invitations have also gone out to chairmen of all leading fans clubs in Kampala, and to one chairman from each upcountry town, to finalise arrangements and endorse Arsenal Uganda on Sunday May 9 at Steak Out from 4.00pm.
Godfrey ‘Marshall’ Alenyo from Bamboo Nest is vice-chairman, Martin Muyanja is secretary while Feisal Abdulrazak is treasurer. Betty Byamugisha and Louis Jadwong will handle public relations, while the committee membership, that will include all town chairmen countrywide, so far has Charles Onen, Harry Sagara, Fred Gumisiriza and Fred Komakech.
