THE Kumi LC5 chairman, Ismail Orot, has urged the Government to evict pastoralists living in wetlands.

During a council meeting at the community hall recently, Orot said most of the pastoralists live at Agu water sources.

He requested President Yoweri Museveni (left) about his sh300m pledge during the insurgencies to pay Kumi people’s taxes and clear ex-servicemen.

Orot asked the Government to provide piped water, a problem he said hindered industrialisation of the district.

He commended the Government on fighting HIV/AIDS and corruption in the country.

Orot said the number of Universal Primary Education pupils had risen to 134,000.
