MBARARA –– Sister Charity (right) of Mbarara-based Rays Band is a new entrant in the music industry who has successfully produced two hits consecutively. In late 2001, she surprised fans in Mbarara with her debut single, Grade, which became a hot cake for western-based FMs. She recently released a second single, Gold, which has since shaken colleagues in the music industry and thrilled fans in Mbarara.

Gospel album
KAMPALA –– HILTON High School, Mukono-based Loyal Gents Singers are to launch their album entitled Sooka Omunoonye (Seek first the kingdom of heaven) at Makerere Adventist Centre (opposite the Law Development Centre) on Sunday, May 23 at 2:00pm. Various Adventist choirs and artistes will perform. The groups include The Royal Ladies, Mukono SDA choir, The Heavenly Chambers, Hilton School choir and Mathias Mukiibi. Entry fee is sh2,500 for adults and sh1,000 for children. The concert is sponsored by Prime Radio 91.9fm and Hilton High School.

Classical show
KAMPALA –– Two senior piano students of Kampala Music School are to stage a concert in preparation of their diploma examinations, from the London-centred Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM). The pianists, Paul Matovu and Deacon Gonzaga Mayanja, will perform at the Carr’s residence, Kizungu Lane, Makindye Hill on Sunday, May 30, starting 6:00pm. Both are to perform classical works by Rachmaninoff, Schubert Bethoven’ and Bach. Admission to the concert will be sh10,000.
