The 5th Division commander, Col. George Etyang, has said the Lords Resistance (LRA) rebels collaborators are the worst enemies to the acquisition of peace in norther Uganda, reports Alex Ocen.
Etyang said the collaborators usually misrepresent the government’s intentions in its efforts to end the war.
“LRA collaborators misinterpret the government effort to provide amnesty to rebels because they gain out of the blood of the innocent civilians,” Etyang said.
He was last Monday presenting a paper on the role of the UPDF in conflict resolution at Lira district council hall. The workshop was organised by the Amnesty commission for senior administrators from Lira and Apac districts.
“We know where these collaborators are, because the returnees are giving us their names,” he said.
and all the information about them. They are backsliding our effort to end the conflict in northern Uganda,’ Col. Etyang said.
He told the participants to advice these collaborators to stop and get back to truck and work with other peace loving community to end the northern war. He said if they surrender the government would pardon them through the Amnesty Act.
