THE Rotary Club of Jinja has constructed 100 protected water springs in Busoga region since the inception of the project in 1999, reports Charles Kakamwa.

The president, John Kirkwood, said the club would solicit for assistance to construct 70 more protected water springs.

Kirkwood was speaking during celebrations to mark the 17th anniversary of the Inner Wheel Club of Jinja at the YMCA Institute on Sunday.

The president of the Inner Wheel Club, Janet Kyemba, said they had initiated a number of projects, including those to help women prisoners, Spire Road School of the Blind and the Jinja Hospital maternity ward.
