MBALE — The municipal council has resolved to terminate the town clerk, Fred Bukeni Gyabi’s services, in public interest. At a council session on Tuesday, Gyabi was accused of abuse of office and incompetence. The council said the minutes of the meeting would be availed to the district service commission for action.

Low turn-up
BUSIA — Only 10 women have turned up for the Prevention of Mother to Child Transmission of HIV this year. The district Voluntary Counselling and Testing co-ordinator, Lam Mayende, said this while addressing Masafu Post Testing drama group recently.

Youth clean
BUSIA — The Youth Environment Service (YES), has started a project to clean the town council. A YES field officer, Amosiah Ongatai, said the 13-member organisation was started in 1999 to minimise environmental risks.
