NEBBI — residents in the upland areas of the district have been put on alert as the traditional season for the outbreak of plague approaches. Assistant district director for health services Dr. Gershim Asiki on Friday said a team of researchers from the centre of disease control and the Uganda Virus Research Institute were camped in Okoro county to carry out investigations concurrently taking place in Madagascar, to establish why the disease is recurrent in the two parts of the world.

APAC — The Resident district Commissioner (RDC), Mary Owor, has expressed concern over the increasing cases of children’s rights abuse. “It is devastating that in most conflicts worldwide, children are part of the military agenda as they are not granted the protection of special rights that are provided for in international registration,” she said told residents at Boma ground.
