SC Villa's opponents in the CECAFA clubs championships, Oserian Fastac of Kenya have pulled out of the event due in Zanzibar February 17-March 4 amid fears that Mathare United who are to replace them may also follow suit, reports Reuben Olita in Nairobi. The clubs are accusing the local governing body, Kenya Football Federation(KFF) of not being honest in settling their financial obligations as and when they fall due.Oserian, who won their first league title last season opted out of the showcase after KFF failed to beat the January 18 deadline to refund Ksh316,000 owed to them by the federation.Reacting to the withdrawal, KFF said they would nominate the league's runners up(Mathare) to carry the country's banner but after clearance from Cecafa.CECAFA secretary Nicholas Musonye said they would liaise with the federation for a replacement. In a quick rejoinder, Mathare boss Bob Munro said like Oserian, KFF owes them Ksh900,000 which they have to pay by Monday lest they face legal action. “Our going to Zanzibar will depend on KFF.”
