By Vision Reporter Last Wednesday, business in some parts of the New Taxi Park came to a stand still. Drivers, touts and passers by had to spend half an hour watching a drama free of charge. Two casual labourers were fighting for luggage. It all started when a lady with a child and luggage looked for someone to help her. As usual the casual labourers were on standby. The lady could not afford what the labourer was asking for. As they continued to negotiate, all of a sudden, another casual labourer came and pulled away the lady’s luggage. This sparked off a fight. The first labourer insisted that it was his job but the second labourer told him that it seemed he was not interested since he could not cut the price. None of them wanted to surrender the luggage. They continued fighting until the owner of the luggage asked for it. As we watched and laughed, we wondered why they would fight for luggage that does not belong to them. The labourers later dispatched. ends
