Denmark committed to private sector

THE Danish ambassador, Flemming Pedersen, has reiterated his government’s commitment to the promotion of private sector programmes in Uganda, reports Martin Kizza.

THE Danish ambassador, Flemming Pedersen, has reiterated his government’s commitment to the promotion of private sector programmes in Uganda, reports Martin Kizza.He said that is why the Danish government has committed US$2m for DANIDA development programmes this year.He was on a familiarization tour of “Time-Out International Ltd”, a Uganda-Danish sports wear firm in Kawempe division, Kalule Zone, which is supported by DANIDA private sector development programme.He was taken round by the firm’s managing director Augustine Bwankosya. Pedersen however, declined to comment on his government’s reduced assistance to Uganda and the claims that Uganda is a dictatorship.
