The weigh-in for the championship that starts today at Lugogo were successfully held yesterday. Bika champions Ffumbe have 28, Ngo follow with 24, Mamba 21 and Nkima 19. The Buganda clans bonanza has attracted 11 teams. The national open category has drawn 49 pugilists while inter-mediates bracket has 51.
UGANDA athletes have been invited to Ethiopia for the Jan Meda International Cross-country Championship February 24. The invitation from Ethiopia Athletics Federation (EAA) requested the local federation to send three athletes and one official, whose foreign expenses including air tickets will be catered for by the organisers. â€œThe junior team is most likely to travel if they are included on the programme ,â€ said UAAF general secretary Patrick Okanya when contacted for comment.

THE Uganda Hockey Association general assembly was adjourned to March 2 on Saturday after members dismissed the un-audited accounts presented by treasurer Olive Kagere. â€œIt is sabotage. Members brought their accounts late to me,â€ Kagere pleaded. Chairman Arthur De Mello looked on shocked as members said all they wanted were audited accounts. Chris James, with hand on chin pondered the next move, as other executives looked startled. The house voted for an adjournment.
