Kabasharira disrupts ntungamo meeting

By Jossy Muhangi There was drama in Ruhaama county, Ntungamo district, recently when former woman MP Naome Kabasharira hijacked Augustine Ruzindana’s meeting to canvas votes for the LC5 chairmanship. Ruzindana, the former Inspector General of Government (IGG) and Ruhaama county MP had invited four people from each of the 52 cells of Nyakyeera sub-county.As he was addressing the meeting on the need to change the incumbent LC5 chairman, John Karazaarwe, to in favour of a youthful Hannington Kachooni, Kabasharira arrived at Nyakyeera Primary School where the meeting was.on citing Kabasharira’s car, the crowd abandoned Ruzindana and began cheering their former woman MP who is also Karazaarwe supporter. Kabasharira pleaded with the voters to complete their meeting with Ruzindana but in vain. She said Karazaarwe was still an effective chairman who had excelled in implementing the central government programmes like schools and road construction. She also said age did not matter.Kabasharira argued that Ruhaama people had ignored young people and elected old Ruzindana.
