Former External Security Organisation (ESO) director of finance and administration, Isaac Magoola, is battling with court to have his case heard in the open.

By Solomon Muyita Former External Security Organisation (ESO) director of finance and administration, Isaac Magoola, is battling with court to have his case heard in the open.Magoola, 37, who has been undergoing trial since 2000 for causing financial loss of sh60,980,270, yesterday appeared before the Kampala High Court Judge, Gideon Tinyinondi.He is seeking a review of an order made by a magistrate to hear his case in camera. Magoola, who is on bail, is also facing charges of abuse of office, false accounting as a public officer and embezzlement.However, hearing of the application failed to take off yesterday when his lawyer, McDusman Kabega, told court that he had not been served with a record of proceedings. Tinyinondi ordered for the supply of the records to Kabega and adjourned the case to May 13.Grade One Magistrate Charles Kisakye changed his decision to hear the case in the open and ruled that the press and public be excluded from the hearing for security reasons.Ends
