‘Mbarara Not Most Corrupt’

By Ebenezer Bifubyeka FRED Kamugira, the Mbarara District chairman, has refuted press reports that Mbarara is the most corrupt district in Uganda.In a press statement dated April 16, Kamugira asked Mr. Charles Kagombe, the source of a report which classified Mbarara as the most corrupt district, to publicly substantiate his claims. Kagombe is a former councillor for Nyakayojo sub-county.Kagombe was on Monday quoted in Orumuri newspaper as saying, “I didn’t stand for councillor because of Kamugira’s government.“If this report needs to be proved right, let the IGG carry out an investigation. He will find that Mbarara is the most corrupt district in Uganda,” Kagombe said.Ends
