Kitariko’s comments confirmed our worst fears about Electoral Commission!

SIR— The comments of EC Commissioner Robert Kitariko before the elections probe committee are an eloquent testimony to the problems in the Electoral Commission.

SIR— The comments of EC Commissioner Robert Kitariko before the elections probe committee are an eloquent testimony to the problems in the Electoral Commission.According to the story “Overhaul EC — Kitariko” in The New Vision of April 16, page 6, the EC officials employ relatives, pay different allowances to workers of same salary scale and double pay others, etc.One is tempted to believe that anomalies like delivering Masaka voting materials to Arua and the like were maliciously intended as sabotage by workers who are aggrieved. If a whole Commissioner of Finance and supervision can propose the overhaul of the Commission, why should the authorities concerned first keep mum about it? Let the situation be rectified.Henry Akiiki-MugisaKampala
