By Eddie SsejjobaMasaka LC5 chairman Vincent Ssempijja has appealed to religious leaders not to intervene in the administration of schools by showing sympathy to headteachers and teachers put under disciplinary action by the district authorities.Ssempijja said this on Sunday at a thanksgiving ceremony hosted by bishop Dr. Keefa Kamya Ssemakula at his home at Kako cathedral, Masaka. He said some teachers in Church of Uganda founded schools usually run to the West Buganda bishop or to any priest in-charge of the school for protection.Ssempijja said the teachers call the church to intervene in case the district authorities try to implement policies and disciplinary action against them.He said the practice undermines the smooth running of the education system in the district. The ceremony was in honour of Ssemakula’s two daughters who graduated recently.Ends
