KAKIRA Sugar Works has laid off 120 security personnel for indiscipline and inefficiency, the human resource manager has said.

By Robert Kanusu KAKIRA Sugar Works has laid off 120 security personnel for indiscipline and inefficiency, the human resource manager has said.Moses Thienge was recently addressing a press conference at the company headquarters.He said retrenchment of the security officers was part of the company’s restructuring programme.“This decision was predetermined following the increasing misconduct of the security personnel contrary to their role in the company. It is effective immediately due to the sensitivity of that department,” Thienge said.He said crime among security officials had increased and some officers had been prosecuted in the courts.He was flanked by the general manager, Richard Orr.Ends
