By Steven SsakuPrisca, a first-year B.Com external student earned herself the nickname Nakawere (a woman who has just given birth) from fellow Makerere University Business School students in Nakawa She earned this new name after tricking more than five men into giving her money by wrapping cloths on her tummy and telling them they had made her pregnant. A friend of hers said that she blames the pregnancy on whichever of her lovers showed up, so that he could give her money to carry out an immediate abortion. It is alleged she raised more than sh1m from the pregnancy scam and she managed to pay tuition, hostel accommodation and as well purchase a new mobile phone. Prisca assured friends that she lost both her parents and the only means of survival was through men who admire her because of her beauty. She further said that whenever she moves out she meets ten more men who are always pressing her to have an affair with them.Monthly birthdays, weekly sicknesses and other lies are also used to raise cash. When asked if she doesn’t fear AIDS, Prisca replied that death occurs everywhere and at any minute.
