SIR— In your issue of August 29, a letter entitled “Victor Kiwalabye is a gold mine, all you blind men!”
The writer blames the Government for not taking action in Kiwalabye’s knowledge.
However, the Minister for General Duties in the Office of the Prime Minister, Prof Mondo Kagonyera, visited Kiwalabye’s herbalist research centre in Kireka on August 13.
The prime minister’s office, the President’s office and the Ministry of Health are taking up Kiwalabye’s case.
Prof Kagonyera held a meeting with the executive of the National Council for Science and Technology and they agreed to financially support Victor Kiwalabye to develop his herbal medicine.
Government supports promotion of traditional medicine and the President has been clear on this.
He has on several occasions met with leaders of traditional healers.
On March 12, Kagonyera met the President of PROMETRA International, Dr Dieuf from Senegal. PROMETRA is an organisation, which promotes African medicine.
They agreed to find ways of developing African medicine and herbal clinics and to also code
the useful discoveries.
It is also upon every patriotic African to supplement government effort in developing Kiwalabye’s miraculous discoveries into lifetime medicine. This will restore hope for many people and put an end to cancer.
