AIDS counsellors were on Tuesday shocked when Kitara SS students in Hoima district admitted not knowing how to use condoms.

The students said during a workshop that the prescriptions on condom packets were not clear on how the condom should be used. They said they were putting on the condom inside out.

However, some boys said the prescriptions were clear but they do not take time to read them because in most cases they play sex under great fear of being caught by parents and teachers.

The students said this after they were shown how condoms are used.

The workshop attended by about 500 students was organised by Hoima Youth Development Association.
Sister Betty Ntakimanya from Hoima Referral Hospital advised students to learn how to use the condoms properly.
