Former presidential candidate and chairman of the Reform Agenda, Col. Dr. Kizza Besigye, yesterday sent greetings to all Ugandans on the 40th independence anniversary.
He said only a few people have good reasons to celebrate while most Ugandans have little to celebrate about.
“They (a few) have food in their houses, their children go to international schools, they are guaranteed health care in the most expensive hospitals in Europe and America,” Besigye said.
“Why, after 40 years, are we a divided country, with war and insurgency all around us, shooting at each other, wallowing in poverty, with no medicine in the hospitals and at loggerhead with our neighbours?” Besigye’s statement said.
