The Minister of State for Investment, Sam Kutesa, has blasted the Democratic Party (DP) stalwarts who urged supporters to boycott the 40th Independence Day celebrations.
He said it demonstrated political immaturity.
Kutesa was speaking at independence celebrations at Sembabule district headquarters.
He officially opened a Movement office and passed out over 240 cadets from Mijwala sub-county who had been undergoing training.
Kutesa, also MP for Mawogola and former DP member, attacked in particular, the Makindye East MP, Michael Mabikke, saying “What the MP and others did, shows they still have a long way to go in politics and people should not be misled by such misguided politicians.”
The LC5 chairman, Herman Ssentongo, appealed to the residents to unite and work together to develop their area.
The district Woman MP, Anifa Kawooya, attended the function.
