Kabaka Ronald Mutebi has accepted the resignation of James Mulwana, the head of the Thailand Consulate in Uganda, as chairman of the Buganda Land Board (BLB).
Mulwana (pictured), who was appointed as advisor, is succeeded by the former Solicitor general and attorney general in the central government, Peter Nkambo Mugerwa.
Mugerwa will lead a 13-man team that includes Prince David Kintu Wassajja, Kabaka Mutebi's younger brother, the Luweero district chairman, Hajji Nadduli Kibaale and Eng. Martin Kasekende, the managing director of Uganda National Housing Corporation.
Mulwana who served as BLB chairman for eight and half years, requested the Kabaka for resignation following a recent operation he underwent that he said weakened him.
Mutebi hailed Mulwana for his performance that enabled the monarchy regain most of its land with titles and for streamlining the lease process. Ends
