Why Should Oyo Lose Benz?

SIR— Your article “Oyo may lose Benz” in Tuesday’s edition has some contradictions. The renovation work funded by Libya refers to the old magnificent palace which was vandalised in 1979. The repair of the old palace is going well, thanks to the fact that the Libyan contractors have the money purse in their custody. The new palace was built eight years ago at sh500m, so the former premier John Katuramu says. Why such a new building should be renovated at sh30m today is a mystery.
