Weak roofs
ENTEBBE – If you are in earthquake prone areas like Sironko, Kapchorwa and western Uganda, it is risky to roof your house ‘French-cut’ style. Samuel Babala, the acting commissioner for human settlement in the works, housing and communications ministry said this at a recent workshop at the Windsor Lake Victoria Hotel.

No exams
PALLISA — Eighteen students of Brethren College failed to sit their senior four examinations this year because their registration fees were allegedly embezzled by the heads of the school. Over sh1.5m was allegedly embezzled by the college director Ignatius Okaali alias Ojuku and headmaster Simon Peter Ekeu.

AIDS work
KAMULI — The AIDS Orphanage Education Trust (AOET) has spent over sh26m to facilitate rural training centres in a bid to economically empower women widowed by HIV/AIDS. AOET director Samuel Tushabe said this recently while launching the project at Igombe in Kagoma sub-county.
