By Hannington MbabaziMARIE Stopes Uganda last Tuesday launched Reproductive and Sexual Services in Kabale District.While opening the Marie Stopes clinic on Kazooba Road in Kabale town, Dr. Pius Ruhemurana, the mayor of Kabale Municipality appealed to the Marie Stopes officials to make the services affordable to the users putting into consideration poverty levels.He said such services started in Kabale hospital in 1984 when he was the medical superintendent. The services however, were not efficient due to lack of facilitation.Speaking at the function, Richard Cooper, the Marie Stopes programme director, said so far 34 countries worldwide were involved in the services from the European Union.Josephine Othieno, the operations manager of Marie Stopes said Kabale district is the 11th district in the country to get Reproductive and Sexual Services through Marie Stopes. She said the goal of Marie Stopes Uganda is to get children by choice not by chance.Dr. Justus Katungu, the director of medical services Kabale district said services of reproductive and sexual health are essential and welcomed Marie Stopes Uganda to Kabale.ends
