Nebbi District Gets Protected Water

By Albert Ayiga OndogaNEBBI district water department has constructed 1,054 protected water points since October 2001, the district water officer, Charles Kisa, has said.He recently told The New Vision that 490 deep boreholes, 75 shallow wells, 443 protected springs, 35 gravity flow scheme taps and 11 community tanks were constructed in the 19 sub-counties of Nebbi.Kisa said the water points serve 250,977 people leaving a total of 197,093 people not catered for.He said that last year, the district designed a water supply option for Parombo Growth Centre.Ends
