‘Begin Sex Education’

THE Ministry of Education and Sports has requested all headteachers in primary and secondary schools to effectively begin teaching sex education.

K. Nsubuga, said this recently at the ministry headquarters.He said sex education was the only way through which HIV/AIDS could be controlled from schools. “This is an instruction to all headteachers of primary, secondary and other educational institutions to effectively begin sex education at all levels,” Nsubuga said. He said the HIV/AIDS scourge was still a big health problem in Uganda which should not be taken lightly. “The most target group are those between the age of 14-25. This is the time for being at school or college and they need immediate attention,” Nsubuga said.Ends
