OVER 100 school fees applicants are received per month in the office of the Masaka district LC5 chairman, Vincent Ssempijja, reports Dismus Buregyeya. Ssempijja, who recently launched the Masaka Exodus Vocational Secondary School computer centre near Nyendo in Masaka, said the district no longer has the capacity to cater for those seeking school fees assistance.He said due to low graduated tax collections, some of the district programmes like the school bursary scheme were affected.“These days I get about 40 people in my office, who ask for school fees sponsorship everyday. Where do you expect us to get school fees offers when people want to pay sh3,000 as graduated tax?” Ssempijja asked. Ends
