By Jovita Ajuna in Nakaseke, LuweeroPRIMARY school teachers have cause to rejoice. They now have their very own magazine, thanks to Straight Talk Foundation (STF).Launched last Monday, Teacher Talk is a magazine through which teachers will share, for the first time, professional and other experiences, to promote teaching and learning in school. The magazine was launched by Geraldine Namirembe Bitamazire, state minister for primary education, at Nakaseke Core Primary Teachers’ College (PTC) in Luweero.Bitamazire welcomed Teacher Talk saying it would uplift the teachers’ self-esteem. “How many teachers walk with their heads down? This is because they feel they have a limited role to play in the community. If you bear inferiority complex, how will you teach pupils to become confident?†she wondered.Bitamazire, a teacher by profession, commended STF for starting a magazine for teachers. She noted that Teacher Talk will create a conducive environment for teachers to share ideas.Cathy Watson, director STF said “Teacher Talk aims at encouraging school enrolment and persistence and effective learning and teaching methods.Ends
