Police in Pallisa district on Sunday arrested three men believed to be part of a gang that recently murdered the secretary manager of North Bukedi Co-operative Union, Jack Mulabi, reports Arthur Wamanga.

Police in Pallisa district on Sunday arrested three men believed to be part of a gang that recently murdered the secretary manager of North Bukedi Co-operative Union, Jack Mulabi, reports Arthur Wamanga.They were nabbed after being rescued from a mob that was attempting to lynch them in Namatale village, Kakule parish, in Naboa sub-county Pallisa district. They were identified as Amulan Lenga, Robert Dobule and Yakobo.The acting Eastern Regional CID Officer, John Aboda said the mob had earlier on killed and burnt an army veteran, Stephen Gwaloma also suspected to have been the leader of the gang.Villagers rounded up the three men after Gwaloma mentioned them as accomplices in the crime.Aboda said Mulabi was gunned down on the night of July 9 after his vehicle was stopped and ransacked by the thugs while on his way to Mbale town from Naboa. “We recovered a pair of brown shoes from the suspects believed to belong to the deceased,” Aboda said. One of the men is reported to be in possession of a gun. Ends
