Residents of Katunguru sub-county in Bushenyi district have expressed bitterness over baboons from the Queen Elizabeth National Park, which have ravaged the villages, writes John Nzinjah.
In a report read to the district sectoral committee on production and marketing during its visit to Kisenyi fish landing, the sub-county chairman, Swaleh Kabuye, said the baboons were a menace in the area.
Kabuye clarified on earlier reports that the baboons had killed 12 children, saying three children had been killed and nine others were wounded. He said they attack the children as they go to school.
One official, Stephen Kasigwa, warned, “If nothing is done, the only primary school here (Kisenyi fish landing site) may not open next term because parents fear to let their children to go to schools.” Ends
