Sleaze scouts on the rampage in Mbale were hot on the phone last week with tales of a 'midnight raid' by military personnel on Club Oasis. Apparently XXXXXX, the robust aide to XXXXXX a senior military man who is immensely popular with the rank and file of the army, stormed the club with six 'valentine boys' in a typical panda gari style. There, the ‘valentine boys’ went to work beating up staff and a few patrons who'd turned up, ordering them out at gun-point before locking up the club. One million shillings was then demanded from the owner of the Club, XXXXXX who quickly paid it. The raid so we hear, was to collect long over due rent on the building which, Club Oasis rents from the military aide. Hmm!
