FAILURE to listen to district officials and lack of patience by the students has lead to the closure of Soroti Comprehensive Nursing School, writes Vision Reporter.

The assistant commissioner for business, technical, vocational, education and transmission (BT-VET), Henry Francis Okinyal, has finally sent the students home after a 10-day strike.

He said it was improper for the students to stay at school without attending lectures. Fourth year students were pardoned because they were attending lectures.
Okinyal said a team of officials would investigate the problems of the students while they are at home.

The students demanded that the commissioner transfers the Principal of the school, Emma Juma, his deputy Jane Okodi and the accountant Simon Odepe.

“Students can’t stay at school without attending lectures, that is wastage of resources,” Okinyal said.
