Premier says

MUKONO — Premier Apolo Nsibambi has blamed some parents for frustrating the UPE programme by denying lunch to pupils. “Some parents have failed to oblige to the UPE component which entails providing lunch and basic education,” he said recently at Mukono Parents High School.

New nurses
KABAROLE — Forty eight Nursing Aides in the district have graduated to nursing assistants after attending a 12-week training course. This brings the number of trained nursing aides to 80. Officials said the 40 had obtained knowledge, skills and attitudes that will enable them deliver better healthcare to the population in the area.

Student dies
BUSHENYI — A senior four student at Tye senior Secondary School and another passenger died instantly when the driver of the vehicle they were travelling in lost control and rammed into a trailer at Kashaka, 16km on Mbarara-Fortportal road. The Police identified the dead as Wilfred Mwijushye, 20,
and Lauben Twikirize.
