PANDEMONIUM broke out at the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) head offices, Nakawa in Kampala yesterday morning following a bomb scare, reports Geoffrey Kamali.
The commotion followed an anonymous phone caller, who said a bomb had been placed in one of the rooms and was about to explode.
The workers stormed out of the offices, causing a stampede.
URA's security officer, Mr. Deus Musinguzi, told The New Vision the call was directed to commissioner Justine Zake's office but was received by his secretary who later recorded a statement with the Police.
Ballistic experts arrived at the scene shortly with two sniffer dogs but found no bomb.
Ends.
