By Yunusu Abbey PRESIDENTIAL candidate Dr. Kizza Besigye's posters and car stickers seized by the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) over tax payment, were released yesterday after his campaign team paid sh8m. Edith Byanyima, whose private courier firm, TNT, was hired to deliver the consignment, said they were ordered to pay a fine of sh2m for demurrage and sh6m for the taxes. "I paid a total of sh8m and got all the consignment today. But I still blame URA for holding my client's goods which led to the sh2m fine," she said yesterday. Byanyima accused URA of exhibiting double standards. "While I was at Entebbe airport waiting to get the goods, Basoga Nsadhu went through the southern gate and collected 27 tonnes of President Museveni's posters which had just been brought by Regional Air from South Africa," she said. Basoga, the information minister, could not be reached for comment yesterday. Ends.
