By Elizabeth Kameo and Davis Weddi The death toll from Saturday night's accident at Namanve has increased to five after two other victims died yesterday at Mulago Hospital. The dead were identified as Henry Kibuuka and Damba. One person died on spot when a pick-up truck crashed into people said to be supporters of presidential candidate Col. Kizza Besigye. Two others died on Sunday morning. At least 21 people were injured. "Four other victims with minor injuries, were discharged and those still admitted are in a stable condition," a medical officer said. The Police yesterday said the driver of the vehicle involved in the accident was private Alex Erimo, driver to the head of the Special Revenue Protection Services, Major Vincent Oula. Grace Matsiko reports that Oula has said Erimo rammed into the crowd accidentally. Oula said Erimo was with his (Oula's) sister. He said they were returning from Mbale where they had gone to collect the belongings of Oula's wife, who passed away last week. Oula said Erimo, whose whereabouts are unknown, abandoned the car, number UAA 009Q in a garage at Kisekka market. "The whole thing was accidental, not a planned move as the papers put it," Oula said. Police spokesman Asuman Mugenyi also said it was an accident. Ends
