By John Kakande A pro-Movement group, Coalition for Peace, has disowned the highly libelous pamphlet, which carried an article vilifying Kabaka Ronald Mutebi of Buganda and Archbishop Cardinal Wamala. "The Coalition for Peace would like to categorically deny any involvement, authorship and publication of the said leaflet," said a statement issued by the group's coordinator, John K. Sebuliba yesterday. The Catholic Church on Thursday issued a statement denouncing the "Coalition for Peace News Bulletin" for publishing article on Cardinal Wamala that was defamatory. Sebuliba alleged that Candidate Col. Dr Kizza Besigye's campaign team was responsible for the publication. But the Besigye team, in a full-page advert published in Bukedde newspaper yesterday denounced the pamphlet. The Besigye team instead accused Museveni's task force of being responsible for the pamphlet. Museveni team on Thursday refuted allegations that it was behind the pamphlet. It asked Museveni supporters to report to Police any person found distributing or attributing it (pamphlet) to him or to government. "In early March 2001, we published a series of leaflets highlighting the achievements of the Movement and exposing the contradictions and hypocrisies of the enemies of peace," Sebuliba said. Ends
