By Vision Reporter THE army has been deployed at Karuma Falls, Owen Falls Dam and Katonga bridge following reports of possible sabotage, the National Joint Security Committee spokesman, Capt. Shaban Bantariza said. Bantariza said yesterday the deployment is to ensure that all strategic points in the country are well defended. "People can get annoyed because the person they have been supporting in the election was defeated, and they can do anything to these strategic places like burning up the bridge. "The National Joint Security committee was set up to ensure that all strategic points are protected and defended in the country. "Deploying of the army in these places is to prevent the possibility of any such sabotage from becoming a reality," Bantariza said. "We want to be security conscious, and we will deploy forces when we find it necessary at any point which we may think is dangerous or a security risk because we want the election period to end peacefully," he added. He said the public should not be alarmed by the deployment of the forces unless those deployed cause any disturbances in the different communities. Ends
