Musamali United States Agency for International Development, USAID, together with the Speaker of Parliament, have announced the details of the new essay competition for students in which the winners will become Distinguished Visitors to the Ugandan Parliament in addition to getting a cash prize and a trophy for their school. The competition is open to P5-P7 pupils, and students of S3 only. The competition for S1-S2, S4-S6, and for higher institutions of learning will be held at a later date. P5-P7 are expected to write an essay entitled: "The Role of a Member of Parliament in Society". The S3s will write an essay on "The Relevance of the Institution of Parliament in the Life of Ugandan Citizens". Only the first 50 entries will be considered. Send them not later than April 3. They should be hand-written. Marks will be awarded for content, style, grammar and comprehension. Ends
