By Joan Mugenzi LAST week had students get back to books after the excitement of the presidential election break that saw Yoweri Kaguta Museveni re-elected. For those who voted, thanks. However, one under-age student who was too enthusiastic to vote failed to do it successfully. A 17-year-old S4 student at St. Mary's Seminary, Virika, was arrested while trying to vote using a card belonging to Joseph Tinka, a former student of the seminary. Poor boy, he is under-age but wanted his voice represented at all costs! Well, others stand warned. It is not everyday that you get away with your dubious ways. On a positive note, Zainah Nandaula of Mukono district whose story appeared in Education Vision last week that she would not continue with her education despite an aggregate of four in last year's Primary Leaving Examinations is getting back to school. Newly re-elected president has ordered State House to pay for her school fees at Mt. St. Mary's Namagunga. Congratulations to you dear Zainah, and thanks to you Mr President. The elections must have been a time for schools to feast. Dokolo MP, Felix Okot Ogong, handed over sh48m from government to three secondary schools in Lira district and reportedly urged them to re-elect Museveni. The schools that benefited were Kwera, Kangai and Agwata. Meanwhile, Education minister, Dr. Kiddu Makubuya, also said government was to release sh20m for the construction of a classroom block for Nalwire Technical Institute in Busia. Well, save for our 17-year-old impersonator, the elections week was quite a reaping one. All's well that ends well. Till next week. Ends
