Losers Urged To Concede

FORMER presidential candidates who lost to president Yoweri Museveni should concede defeat and push ahead with national reconciliation and development, the Minister for the Presidency has said.

By Darious Magara FORMER presidential candidates who lost to president Yoweri Museveni should concede defeat and push ahead with national reconciliation and development, the Minister for the Presidency has said. Dr. Ruhakana Rugunda, also MP for Kabale Municipality, said this in an interview with the New Vision on Thursday. Rugunda said, "I call on all the people of Uganda and the five candidates who did not succeed in the just concluded presidential poll to accept the results." He added, "The just-concluded March 12 presidential polls are the most transparent elections ever held in Uganda. The people turned up massively to vote and presidential candidates freely campaigned and the results are a true reflection of the wishes of the people of Uganda." Museveni was on Wednesday declared the re-elected president of Uganda for another five-year term after trouncing five other candidates. Ends
