SIXTY-TWO former captives of Joseph Kony rebels, among them two residents of Mpigi and Kyenjonjo, were yesterday flown home from Khartoum, reports Grace Matsiko. "I can't believe I'm in Uganda, I don't know what my parents will think of me," an excited 19-year-old from Kitgum said at Entebbe Airport. Suleiman Mukwaya, 46, of Nyanama on Entebbe Road and Charles Akiiki Beyeza, 48, from Mabira, Kyenjojo, said they had surrendered 'to death.' The ex-captives arrived at Entebbe at 9.00am aboard a Kenya Airways plane and were received by Kakembo Nkangi, the state minister for gender, Bill Fellows of UNICEF, representatives of International Organisation for Immigration and UNHCR officials. They included 24 children, among them a two-week-old baby and 38 adults. They had lived at a UNICEF centre in Juba for about two months. Ends
